I know I’m not alone in thinking this. I’ve spent a lot of time over the past five or more years looking for time-saving practices, devices, ways of being, and more. Spent a lot of time…trying to….save time…. Uh yup, that’s what I wrote.
The biggest problem with being a fearless creative person is, well, that it really takes something to stop me from creating new things. So my to-do list always is decidedly un-doable. Harumph. Argh. Blech… LOL!
Now that I’ve aired my most usual complaint, let me share with you what I discovered just moments ago. I’m too busy to do everything I need to get done. Like writing a useful blog entry (of which I would not categorize this as being one of those).
If anyone follows Working Artists, or me, online, anywhere, you’ve undoubtedly noticed that communication comes in fits and gushes. Why? Well, I’m still running a one woman show, and I find myself working in weekly pockets of tasks:
With a schedule like that it’s a wonder I make it from day-to-day, week-to-week, month-to-month. Good lord – year-to-year now too…
I suppose that’s how five insane years pass.
A To-Do List generates and regenerates, acting like a perpetual to-do birthing device. I’m sure of it.
So, in order to reclaim some small strand of sanity I do one thing, the same thing each day, off my list:
- do you very best, and know that you’ve done your very best
- ….
Ahhhh. Ummmm. Yeeeaaahhhh. All better now.
A.
